This Thursday, 4-7 pm
A visit from our friend Bernie Seitz of Vehr’s gives us a chance to taste and purchase some delightful bottles just right for Valentine’s Day – or any other fun occasion!

Zonin Prosecco (Italy) – One of the most popular and affordable sparklers in the market. It is made with 100% Prosecco grapes, and is just a little off-dry, which in fact allows the fruit to show through quite nicely. It’s low enough in alcohol (11%) that you won’t get a buzz from a couple of glasses. So, open a bottle -- for Super Bowl Sunday, or just as a reward for getting your chores done! $12.99

New Age White (Argentina) – A blend of Torrontes and Sauvignon Blanc from Bodega Valentin Bianchi, with intense fruity and floral aromas. Balanced acidity leads to soft, semi-sweet and slightly effervescent flavors. Extremely refreshing, vivacious and sensual. Serve it on the rocks with a slice of lemon or lime and you have the Argentine cocktail called “Tincho”! $8.99

Kiss Me Deadly Red (Washington) – This is a project of Keith Pilgrim, owner and winemaker at Terra Blanca Winery. $9.99

Red Decadence Chocolate Raspberry (Washington) – Really, do we need to say more? Ruby red wine infused with ripe, juicy raspberry & rich dark chocolate. $9.99

Trentadue Chocolate Amoré (California) – This Merlot-based, port-styled chocolate flavored dessert wine is great over vanilla ice cream or as a stand-alone dessert. $19.99
This coming Saturday, 2 - 5 pm, please welcome Gordy Rawson, owner and winemaker of Chatter Creek Winery in Woodinville. Come taste the following:

2010 Pinot Gris – Light and lively, this is crisp and fruit forward, with a zesty mix of aromas and flavors such as green apple, spice, and pear. Medium-bodied with high acidity, this wine is the perfect accompaniment to most light dishes. 87 pts Wine Advocate - $12.99

2008 Grenache – Grenache 85%, Syrah 10%, Mourvedre 5%. This year’s Grenache is light ruby in color, very clear and bright. The nose is full of aromas of cranberry, fresh bread and strawberry. Racy acidity in the forward palate combines with the flavors of cranberry, raspberry, peach and a bit of hazelnut, resulting in a well-balanced, classic Grenache. 88 pts Wine Enthusiast - $14.99

2007 Blend 105 – Merlot 49%, Cabernet Sauvignon 21%, Syrah 14%, Petit Verdot 10%, Malbec 3%, Cabernet Franc 3%. This wine sparkles with bright, ruby color. The nose, ripe and forward, is an aromatic blend of violets, cassis, and black cherry. A complex palate starts with cassis, then warming to plumy cherry and blueberry fruit. The finish continues the interplay of the fruit and terroir, framed in by notes of toasted almonds and vanilla bean. A wine that boasts of tremendous balance and attentive wine making. 89 pts Wine Spectator - $16.99

2007 Cabernet Sauvignon – Cabernet Sauvignon 88%, Merlot 8%, Petit Verdot 2%, Syrah 2%. Aromas of violets and black berry, a bouquet of cedar and tobacco. Cassis and blueberry on the palate make this full-bodied wine the ideal accompaniment to most savory beef recipes. 87 pts Wine Advocate - $17.99

2006 Syrah “Lonesome Spring –rich purple color and aromas of blackberry, sage, plum and pan drippings that waft from the glass. A racy acidity helps propel flavors in this richly extracted, well-balanced classic Syrah. Firm tannins hold the experience in balance without being austere and a long finish hangs on until giving way to a silky hint of toasted nuts. – 92 pts Wine Spectator. - $16.99

Gift Certificates are available - A great gift for any wine lover.

Wine speak
Canopy is the above-ground parts of the vine, especially its leaves. Wine growers use a variety of canopy methods to get the best ripening, without allowing the grapes to get “sun-burned.”
